14 Jun Report on Our June Auction & Announcing The Date of Our July LIVE Auction
Kiwi wines continue to be a crowd pleaser
Report on our June Online Auction
Our June online auction was weighted towards New Zealand wines which proved to be exciting for our buyers. The auction was flush with Te Mata Coleraine and Awatea and every Lot of these wines sold. Stunning news for our vendors and delightful drinking for our buyers.
From across the pond, our usual Australian suspects experienced the same success. South Australian heavy weights Henschke Hill of Grace and Jim Barry Armagh covering many vintages …. SOLD! Cases of Penfolds Grange were in strong demand with many bidders expressing their interest. 1999 SOLD for $2940 ($490 per bottle), 2006 SOLD for $3120 ($520 per bottle) and the Robert Parker 100 point 2008 SOLD for $3600 ($600 per bottle). From other new world wineries, the cult Napa Valley wine The Realm also SOLD well to some very savvy buyers.
This leads us nicely into our curated selection of old world wines. We presented a 1970s bottling of Krug which SOLD for $450. Also rushing out the door from the Rhone was 2007 Clos des Papes and 1990 magnum of Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Papes. 2015 Bordeaux was also snapped up.
Finally, the Remy Martin Louis XIII was a popular Lot attracting many bids. Also SOLD but fear not… we are currently negotiating to secure a 1930s/40s bottling to hopefully present in our September Live Auction. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for us.
Thank you to all of our bidders from New Zealand, Australia, UK and the United States – your passion and enthusiasm makes for a fun, lively auction experience. Paid out-of-town and international orders are now on their way to your doorstep and of course, local buyers can swing by 300 Richmond Road, Grey Lynn to collect your stunning purchases post payment.
