Report on Oct/Nov Online Auction & Announcing the Date of End of Year Live Auction

Our Oct/Nov Online auction which closed last Sunday, came with a vast selection that offered plenty of opportunities to stock up the cellar or grab that trophy bottle for a special occasion. The highest hammer win went for NV Laurent Perrier La Cuvee Methuselah (6 litre) at $940, followed by 1982 Chateau Certan de May at $587.50 and 2000 Ornellaia Tenuta dell’Ornellaia Superiore at $470. It’s worth the mention that, NV Laurent Perrier La Cuvee Jeroboam (3 litre) sold for $458.25. All great buys that are perfect for the upcoming festival season.

 

Stonyridge Vineyard once again reached a 100% sell-through rate in this auction, 2010 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose reached $293.75, followed by its 2012 vintage at $270.25, while 2011 vintage sold for $223.25 and 2015 vintage sold for $211.50. Another beloved NZ Bordeaux blends, 2002 Church Road Tom achieved an amazing $305.50. From the same vintage, 2002 Chateau Calon Segur 3eme Cru Classe sold for $164.50.

 

Rhone as a region and Syrah as a variety, have long been top performers with us. The 2015 Craggy Range Le Sol achieved $199.75, 2004 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reservee Chateauneuf du Pape reached $188, 2015 Trinity Hill Homage sold for $164.50 and both 2001 & 2005 Lucien et Andre Brunel les Cailloux Chateauneuf du Pape sold for $129.25.

 

Also known as the King of Wines, Burgundy reigns supreme. We had some great names in this auction, with 1993 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault-Perrières 1er Cru reached $411.25, from the same vintage its 1993 Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru sold for $376. The 1988 Domaine Georges Lignier Clos de la Roche Grand Cru sold for $352.50 and 2002 Domaine J.M. Boillot Puligny-Montrachet les Combettes 1er Cru got snapped at $270.25. From home, 2017 Prophet’s Rock Cuvee aux Antipodes Pinot Noir reached $141 while 2011 Dry River Pinot Noir sold for $129.25.

All prices include Buyers Premium but exclude GST.
