10 Nov Report on November Auction & Announcing The Date of December Live Auction

Our November Online auction was populated with stellar wines that would be perfect for any alfresco dining or special occasions with friends and loved ones over the summertime.  From one of the most lauded wineries in Burgundy, if not the world, the 2001 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee St Vivant Grand Cru got the highest hammer, selling for $2643.75. This was closely followed by Remy Martin’s Louis XIII Cognac at $2350, great buys!

 

Italy has been performing really well since August, and this month was no different. 1997 Masseto Tenuta dell’Ornellaia achieved $998.75 followed by its 1999 sibling at $881.25. Another Super Tuscan legend, Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2015 & 2012 sold for $423 and $364.25 respectively.

 

Bordeaux blends performed the best across all regions. From home, 1998 Te Mata Coleraine was snapped at $188. Bordeaux itself went very well with the 2005 Chateau Montrose selling for $387.75, followed by 2009 Chateau Lascombes, 2014 Chateau Cos d’Estournel and 2005 Chateau Leoville Barton, which were all sold for $258.50. Over the ditch, 2006 Penfolds Grange Bin 95 sold for $728.50.

 

We have had an excellent run of vintage ports lately with one of the Lots – 1977 Grahams Vintage Port Hammering at $246.75.

 

Our next auction, also the LAST of the year, will be a LIVE/online event on Tuesday 1st December at Caro’s Wine 14 Mackelvie Street, Grey Lynn. Please note the auction will start at 6.00pm. As usual, this will be streamed live on auctions.wineauctionroom.com.
