Report on Last Online Auction & Announcing the Date of October LIVE Auction

Thanks to all our bidders making Late Winter Online Auction which concluded a week ago, another success.

For the first time, the highest hammer win went for a bottle of spirit, Tesla Tequila Anejo took the crown at $2350, a very unique bottle that will definitely spark a conversation when someone sees it on your shelf.

Bordeaux once again was the star region of the month, 2002 Chateau Mouton Rothschild reached $940, 1971 Chateau Lafite Rothschild got snapped at the same price; both 2003 Chateau Haut Brion and 2003 Chateau Angelus sold for $869.50. The increasing interest in Chateau Angelus is very evident in our past two years’ auctions. It’s also worth mentioning from the 2003 vintage, Chateau Leoville las Cases 2eme Cru sold for $317.25, Chateau Pontet Canet which is a 5eme Cru achieved $246.75, closely followed by Chateau Leoville Poyferre, a 2eme Cru, at $235 and  Chateau Calon Segur 3eme Cru at $176.25.

Bordeaux blends from home were the lots that got the most views and bids. 1998 Coopers Creek Reserve 6L achieved $822.50, 6 bottle lot of 2008 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose sold for $916.50, followed by its 2005 vintage 6 bottle lot at $846, while 2010 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose reached $223.25 both 2014 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose and 2014 Te Mata Estate Coleraine sold for $141, followed by 2016 Te Motu at $129.25.

Some nice wins in the Pinot department as always. 1997 Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru reached $587.50, 2010 Valli Pinot Noir achieved $141, followed by 2014 Pyramid Valley Vineyards Angel Flower at $117.5 and 2013 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir got snapped at $111.63.

On a bubbly note, NV Piper-Hiedsieck Cuvee Brut 6L sold for $728.50, 2002 Bollinger R.D Extra Brut reached $481.75, followed by NV Laurent Perrier La Cuvee Jeroboam at $458.25; 2002 Bollinger La Grande Annee James Bond 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Brut sold for $317.25 and NV Ulysse Collin ‘Les Maillons’ Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut sold for $293.75.

Some other highlights are, 2019 Domaine Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Clos de la Marechale Blanc Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru sold for $258.50, 2014 Pyramid Valley Vineyards Field of Fire Chardonnay achieved $164.50, 1977 Warre’s Vintage Port scored $305.50.
